Small boat arrivals healthcare: mobilisation
After our client won the Home Office’s healthcare contract, worth about £56m, we mobilised the service across Border Force vessels, the Western Jet Foil in Dover and the Manston site.
The challenge
The service had to run 24 hours a day all year, flexing from an on-call service on days with no crossings to full activity when thousands arrived in a week. It took over from three incumbents that had covered different sites with no shared record.
What we did
We mobilised the contract against its milestones. The work covered:
- Key personnel: the roles committed in the bid, in post for the start of the contract
- The implementation plan: every workstream tracked against the contract milestones
- Clearances: security clearance for staff working across the three sites
- Systems: the clinical and operational systems the service needed from day one
- Readiness: checks against the contract milestones before go-live
